When I was a little girl, I would line up my stuffed animals, get out my mini chalkboard, and become a teacher. They always listened attentively as I scribbled on the board and talked about whatever I thought those rag-tag animals needed to know. As I got older, I started baby-sitting all the neighborhood kids and I loved making little educational games to bring with me to share with the families. I was so lucky because my high school had a child development class that included a part-time preschool, and I spent most of my time creating lesson plans and playing with little ones, especially the kiddos that had a hard time when their parents said goodbye. During college, I became a nanny and after graduation I worked at an infant-toddler center, starting as a teacher and working my way up to assistant, then interim, director before leaving to become a pre-k/kindergarten teacher and program coordinator and get my masters degree.
All my life, I always knew I wanted to work with children and families in some capacity and that has never changed. I am still incredibly passionate about early education and love sharing the knowledge and experience I have gained throughout my decade-long teaching career. In addition to my varied teaching background, I have a BA in Health Arts and Science and MA in Education, where I specialized in Child Development and Early Education. I’m also a certified YogaKids teacher and have a valid Vermont teaching license for Birth to Age Six. I am eager to help your family build an educational toolbox and connect you to resources and information you might need to help your children grow and thrive. I would be honored to be a part of your tribe as you start-or continue-your family adventure.
